Sara Fodil-Cherif

I am a resident counselor pursuing my LPC license in Virginia. I graduated from George Mason University with an M.Ed in counseling and development and I hold a bachelor’s degree in psychology.

Currently, I am providing mental health counseling services in the Northern Virginia area to adults, youth, and families.

I specialize in trauma, multicultural issues, relationship issues, depression, and anxiety. I also work extensively with the immigrant population providing support in areas like acculturation and resettlement, intergenerational trauma, and social advocacy.

Treatment Approach

My theoretical orientation is cognitive behavioral therapy, but I am clinically trained to incorporate a variety of different interventions depending on the client’s needs and presenting issues. In addition to CBT, I often use gestalt therapy, mindfulness, and psychodynamic techniques in my sessions.

Supervisor: Vittoria Grant, LPC License #0701002956

When not working, I enjoy nature walks, traveling and spending time with family.
